Do you fund disbursements on files that you take on?

Yes. Disbursements refers to the expenses a lawyer spends out of their pocket pursuing your case. If the lawyer says they will not fund costs for disbursements, the lawyer or paralegal must, prior to entering into a professional relationship with you, inform you of these costs and ensure that you understand your obligations with respect to paying those costs.

Describe your approach to working with clients

Connection and regular communication is key. Knowing you and your needs as an individual, I will convene the best team to help you achieve maximum recovery. I will use my 32 years of experience to answer all your questions, provide a plan and a team and bring all our energy to help your recovery. To get back to their lives, clients need a creative and determined lawyer; a tech savvy trial lawyer who knows the science of recovery and how to maximize compensation for future needs.

Do you allow prospective clients, with consent, to contact previous clients prior to deciding to hire them?

Yes

How do you communicate with clients?

We use email, telephone, text, in-person and virtual meetings. You have the ability to text us if you have a question or concern.

Do you meet with clients outside of regular business hours?

Yes, our focus is on you. We will meet you after hours, in person or remotely via secure video call if required.

Is your office wheelchair accessible/mobility friendly?

Yes, it is.

Do you visit clients in their home or at the hospital?

Yes, it is our aim to make the process as easy for you as possible. If you are injured or have limited mobility, we will find a solution that works for you.

Do you accept cases on a contingency fee basis?

Yes, a contingency fee agreement means you hire MacDonald Injury Lawyers by promising to pay a percentage (typically one-third or less) of whatever money we recover for you. If we recover nothing, then you do not receive a bill (not even for money spent out of their pocket pursuing your case). When working on a contingency fee, we will only get paid if we “win” your case. We will only take your case if we have confidence we will be successful. Sometimes during a free consultation, we will explain that we can’t take on a case on a contingency fee basis. In those circumstances, we may discuss other ways we can be hired to assist you.
